EV Charger Power Module Technology

Main Features

1. Support for Fast Charging

A DC fast charger (DCFC) can charge electric vehicles in a very short time and supports a variety of charging standards (CHADEMO, CSS, etc.).

2. Efficiency

It minimises energy loss with high power-conversion efficiency and improves user experience with short charging time.

3. Smart Function

It improves user convenience by supporting charging status monitoring, charging by reservation, remote control, etc. through IOT technology.

4. Safety

It has a built-in function to prevent overcharging, overheating and short circuit to strengthen safety.
In addition, it is integrated with the battery management system (BMS) of electric vehicles to provide optimal charging conditions.

5. Modularization

Thanks to a modularized design with various capacities and functions, it can expand or adjust the system, if necessary.

Technology Trends

1. Development of High-powered Charger

The high-speed charger technology of 350KW or higher is under development, which will significantly shorten the time of charging electric vehicles.

2. Integration with Renewable Energy

A growing number of charging stations utilize renewable energy including solar, wind power, etc. and integration with the energy storage system (ESS) is also actively taking place.

3. V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid)

The technology for utilizing an electric vehicle battery as an energy storage through an interaction between an electric vehicle and a power grid is being developed. It improves the safety of the power grid and provides additional income to electric vehicle owners.

4. Standardization

We are conducting standardization work for improving compatibility between a charger and a car and are making efforts to support various models and brands of electric vehicles according to global standards.

5. Smart Charging Infrastructure

Apps and platforms for identifying the location and use status of charging stations in real time are developed and user experience is improved.
